Horseback Trail Riding!
We cannot accept April or May bookings from people residing outside of Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health areas.
Leghorn Ranch is reopening for Trail Rides. We are following provincial guidelines to protect all of our customers. Our groups can take 6 to 8 riders and if it’s one group we can take up to 10 riders. All of our equipment will be sanitized after every ride. Everyone will be requested to wear gloves for riding and proper social distancing can be easily accomplished as the experience of riding a horse out in the fresh air is one of the safest sports we can imagine in these unprecedented times. Please call or text 778-886-1343 to book your ride.
Our horseback trail riding tours are an outdoor adventure experience that you will remember for a long time. We have horseback tours to suit your skill level, from beginner to advanced. Come and enjoy wide open scenic trail riding routes just minutes away from Vancouver, BC.
$90+GST – 1 hour tours
All rides require a deposit* paid through PayPal, e-transfer, or credit card as indicated above. The remaining balance must be paid in cash or credit on day of ride.
*The deposit is required to confirm your booking, as many people do not show up. The deposit shows that you are a serious rider.
IMPORTANT - All horseback riding tours start at the ranch.
A complimentary horseback riding lesson is required before riders can ride the horses in the trails. Safety is very important to us. The lesson will take approximately 10 minutes per person in the group and it will cover: proper horse saddling, selecting a horse to fit the rider size and experience, and how to control the horse (start, stop, turn). The horse that you learn on is the horse that you will ride on in the trails.
Once the lesson is complete, the cowboy will put the horses in the trailer and drive to the trail. You can follow them to the trail in your car. This way riders will not be riding in highway traffic. Your trail ride starts 5 minutes away from the ranch.
We keep our group sized small for your safety.
For your safety, group sizes are limited and reservations are required.

We Saw A Bear!!
My daughter and I had the pleasure of riding Jack & Warrior, two beautiful and well behaved geldings. Although we have both grown up riding horses in Ontario we found the wit, charm and sense of humor of Hanif and the exceptional backdrop beauty of British Columbia second to none and our best trail ride yet! Our ride started off relaxing & calm but then Hanif spotted and pointed out a bear.....our adrenaline started pumping and we couldn't believe our eyes!!! A bear.... a real bear, unbelievable!! So exciting!! I get goosebumps just thinking about it!! Highly recommended for all ages/levels! Well worth the money! Now go and book a ride.....you won't be disappointed :)
Nice to see Safety First over Cash Grab
I wanted to do something nice for my hubby who used to take riding lessons. I have been on a few trail rides but by no means am a great rider, and Hanif had the foresight to call me after I booked a more advanced trail to say that it was better to do a less advanced ride as my experience was more matched to that.
How great is that? Someone concerned for safety and well being rather than taking my money and giving me what could have been not only scary but a dangerous ride.
We felt that we were in great hands, from being matched up to horses that suited us to making sure we knew the basics before heading out. Because of this, we had an excellent time. Both Hanif and Janet are very nice people, they know their stuff, and we left wanting more.
Thank you both for making our experience a great one. We can't wait to come back again knowing we are in trustworthy hands.
Irish gal meets Country Western!!
I went to Leghorn ranch along with 7 other friends. All of which had either little to no experience horse riding. Hanif and Janet were amazing, they pair a horse to your needs and experience, along with a trail ride that best suits your abilities. The horses are fantastic ranging from those who are very quiet and calm to those with a little spark for more advanced riders. They can accommodate any riders needs and provide a quick mini lesson in the beginning for those who need the extra riding tips. Myself and my friends (all 8 of us) had an amazing time going along the beginners trail, with beautiful views and a fab little stream crossing for fun. All of my friends commented on what an amazing experience it was and would love to return again. I myself will most definitely be back and look forward to trying the more advanced trails throughout the mountainside. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Janet, Hanif and their amazing horses for making our day out a rememberable one. Thanks for the Cowgirl experience.
Wonderful Horseback Riding Experience
My girlfriend Jen and I received a gift certificate for a 2 hour trail ride at Leghorn Ranch as a gift. We were very excited for a relaxing ride, and the experience definitely lived up to our hopes. Hanif, the tour guide was fun, helpful and made the entire experience that much more comfortable. The horses are really well trained and behaved, so beginners and children can expect the safest and most enjoyable experience. The trail ride itself was fantastic. Very quiet, and natural. We saw geese and their young, ducks, berry farms and haring. Everyone we encountered on the trail was friendly and would say hello. Thank you so much Leghorn Ranch for this wonderful experience!
